Yesu Aragukunda

Nestled in the heartland of Canada lies a small church that’s become a thriving community of love and unity. The Moose Jaw Seventh-day Adventist Church is more than just a place of worship; it’s a vibrant community where diversity is celebrated, barriers are broken down, and love is the universal language.

Amanda Ennest, an active church member, tells a heartwarming story of how this congregation has turned perceived challenges into opportunities for deeper connection. According to her, “Love doesn’t need translation,” and this sentiment is felt throughout the church walls. Members from various backgrounds and cultures have come together to share their faith and love for each other.

What’s impressive about this church is that language barriers are seen as bridges to understanding and unity. Even when an African member shared his testimony in his native tongue, the message of resilience and faith resonated powerfully with everyone present. Recently, the African members of the church shared their talents and language with the rest of the congregation. It was a unique and uplifting experience where everyone came together to praise God. Joseph Haleli brought a special message in his native African language, Kinyarwanda, reminding us, “Yesu aragukunda (Jesus loves you).”

This church also serves as a haven for newly arrived refugees, offering them solace and a sense of belonging. They find others who understand their struggles and share their hopes. The unique experiences of these members and those of the African community add rich hues to the church’s diverse canvas.

The story of the Moose Jaw Seventh-day Adventist Church is a testament to the power of community, diversity, and love in Christ. It serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that no barrier is too high or chasm too wide when we look beyond our differences and embrace our shared bonds.

Ennest sums it up beautifully, “Our church is a symphony of diverse notes, creating a beautiful melody of unity. We are different, but we are one in Christ’s love.”

This heartwarming narrative invites us to experience the transcendent power of unity and love at the heart of the Moose Jaw Seventh-day Adventist Church. It inspires us all to celebrate diversity and foster community bonds. Come and experience it for yourself because, as Matthew 25:13 tells us, we don’t know the day or the hour. But we can know Jesus and His love for us in all its beautiful forms.
