Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am always with you, until the end of the age."
What does it mean to go and make disciples for Jesus in today's world?
In our upcoming Camp Meeting, several guest speakers will address this question.
However, one crucial component of what a disciple looks like is Love. Jesus said in John 13:35, "All men will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another."
When we love others, it demonstrates that we are Jesus' disciples.
I hope that as we prepare for Camp Meeting 2023, we will reflect on what it means to be Jesus' disciples and how we can make disciples in our homes, employment, schools, and communities. For God's glory, let us seek God's direction in our efforts to become more effective disciples.
Let us pray: Dear God, we thank you for the gift of discipleship. Help us to love others well and to share the gospel with boldness with those who have not yet encountered Your love. We seek opportunities to make disciples for the sake of Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dr. David Jamieson: July 14 (Friday) to July 15 (Saturday Evening)
Pastor David Jamieson accepted the call to serve as president of Upper Columbia Conference in January of 2022.
Prior to that, He was lead pastor of Church in the Valley, located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, where he led the church for more than 20 years.
David grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada and attended Canadian Union College (now Burman University), where he met his wife, Shandra. He later went on to receive a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University in 1989 and returned in 2009 to receive a Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in evangelism and church growth.
Before pastoring at Church in the Valley, David served as president of the Newfoundland Conference in Eastern Canada. David has traveled worldwide, speaking at conferences, and sharing seminars for pastors and laity highlighting topics related to pastoral leadership, community outreach, and evangelism.
Additionally, he has been the speaker-director for Faith Out Loud Canada, a 30-minute, five-days-a-week radio program, broadcast throughout all of Canada. David and Shandra have four grown children and one grandson.
Pastor Paul Llewellyn: July 16 (Sunday)
On September 11, 2022, Pastor Paul accepted the call to serve as president of the SDACC for the next five-year term. Paul, who had been the SDACC executive secretary since January 2020, has a strong background of both teaching in Adventist education and working with the youth and young adults of our church. He has served as educator, pastor, camp director, conference secretary, and conference president.
Paul Llewellyn hails from the lovely Island of PEI. Grew up in a military household and got to see God slowly bring his whole family to know Jesus. Paul started serving the church in education and moved into teaching Bible Class and Chaplaincy. Eventually moving into pastoral ministry and then into administration.
Dr. Michael Campbell: July 17 (Monday) to July 19 (Wednesday)
Dr. Michael W. Campbell, Ph.D., is director of the North American Division department of Archives, Statistics, and Research.
He is ordained minister who previously spent a decade in higher education in the Philippines and Texas. He is the co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Seventh-day Adventism and is under contract with Eerdmans to write a forthcoming textbook about Adventist history. He recently organized academic paper sessions at the American Society of Church History and the Conference on Faith and History.
He has contributed over one thousand articles in popular, peer-reviewed, and reference works. Some of his research interests include a history and theology of the Lord’s Supper, the Taiping movement, and the history of missions.
He is the author of twelve books including 1922: The Rise of Fundamentalism (Pacific Press, 2022). He contributes regularly to the “Sabbath School Rescue” and “Adventist Pilgrimage” podcasts. He enjoys bird watching, racquetball, and Pathfinders.
He and his wife, Heidi, who is a Ph.D. candidate at Baylor University in Early Modern History, have two teenage children, Emma and David.
Dr. Philip Baptiste: July 20 (Thursday) to July 22 (Saturday Night)
Philip Baptiste is the departmental director of Adventist-Laymen Services and Industries (ASI) for the North American Division (NAD) and the Secretary/Treasurer of ASI. In this role, he provides financial oversight, coordinates strategic planning, and helps direct the administrative activities and overall operation of ASI in the North American Division.
Before serving at the NAD, Philip was a General Conference missionary for four years, serving as the Special Assistant to the President for the East-Central Africa Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He coordinated strategic planning, leadership development, assessment, media, communications, Mission to the Cities, and ASI in eleven countries in this role.
Philip Baptiste is a strategic communication and leadership expert with a unique ability to train and develop leaders for excellence. He facilitates and helps lead churches, conferences, and non-profit organizations through the strategic-planning process and is a certified 360 Leadership Assessment Coach for the Center for Creative Leadership.
An ordained minister, he has also served as an adjunct professor for homiletics and preaching at the Adventist University of Africa.
Before entering into General Conference mission service, Philip Baptiste served as the communication director for the Central States Conference and associate youth director for the Rocky Mountain and Washington Conferences. He also served as lead pastor for more than ten years in Denver and Colorado Springs.
Born in Canada, he is the son of a pastor and the youngest of three boys. Philip graduated from Andrews University, obtaining an Associate of Science in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, and a master’s degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. Also, he holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Communication and Strategic Leadership from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Philip recently completed a second master’s degree in strategic communications from American University in Washington, D.C.
Philip Baptiste is a dynamic communicator, a professional event planner, a youth ministry expert, a strategic planning consultant, a professional organizational and relationship coach, and a certified family life educator. In his spare time, he enjoys beach vacations, playing the piano, traveling, and cooking.
A sought-after speaker, Philip has been the keynote presenter at events and conferences around the world. He is married to his darling wife, Dalyne, who teaches grade four at the Olney Adventist Preparatory School in Maryland. She has a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Performance Improvement and Leadership from Capella University.
Together they have one joyful son, PJ. Philip's mission is to use his gifts of communication, compassion, and creativity to empower others and develop leaders of excellence to help hasten the soon coming of Jesus.
