Pastor Ron Marshall Voted as Secretary in the Maritime Conference

On 12 June 2023 – The Executive Board of the Maritime Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church voted Pastor Ron Marshall as its new Executive Secretary.

Pastor Marshall brings a wealth of experience, exceptional leadership skills, and spiritual gifts to his new role, having served in various pastoral capacities throughout his career.

With a focus on fostering spiritual growth and community impact, Pastor Marshall’s unique spiritual gifts include apostleship, help, and administration. These gifts have played an integral role in his success as a thought leader in the faith communities of Canora, Quill Lake and Yorkton, Saskatchewan, positively impacting the churches and communities he has served.

Pastor Marshall has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his ministry, specifically in leading and managing a three-church district. Under his guidance, the churches experienced growth, increased community outreach programs, and enhanced collaboration among congregations.

Pastor Marshall’s compassionate presence during difficult times is another testament to his exceptional leadership. Following the tragic Humboldt Broncos hockey team bus accident in Saskatchewan, Pastor Marshall provided comfort, support, and spiritual guidance to grieving families and community members during their most challenging moments.

“The Maritime Conference is excited to welcome Pastor Ron Marshall as our new Executive Secretary,” said Pastor David Miller, Chairperson of the Board of Directors and President of the Maritime Conference. “His spiritual gifts, leadership experience, and compassionate nature make him an ideal choice to help guide the church in the Maritimes to greater heights.”

“The impact of Pastor Ron’s leadership has been exceptional, and he stands out among pastors in the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference,” Pastor Charles Ed II Aguilar, President of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference, states.

“His dedication and compassion have inspired and guided others, leaving a positive mark on the communities he has served. While his departure from the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference would be unfortunate, his appointment as the secretary at the Maritime Conference offers hope and inspiration. His strategic thinking and valuable soft skills will undoubtedly benefit the leadership at the Maritime Conference. I have full confidence in Pastor Ron’s ability to continue making a difference in his new role.”

Pastor Ron Marshall shared his enthusiasm for the new position: “I am grateful and humbled by this new ministry calling to serve as Executive Secretary of the Maritime Conference. I look forward to working with the president, the board, pastoral staff, and our community partners to further our mission and create a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.”

As the statistical officer of the Conference, Pastor Marshall will oversee the process of statistical and year-end reports while also managing permanent minutes for various committees and meetings. He will also oversee membership records, issue employee licenses and credentials, and ensure North American Division and Union policies compliance.

He also maintains the Conference Working Policy, prepares and distributes relevant documents, and coordinates ministerial internship applications and personnel service requests.

Lastly, he plans and participates in critical events such as the Conference Constituency Meeting, Camp Meeting, and Workers’ Meeting programs while accepting speaking appointments at churches, developing and implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering strong relationships with churches, community partners, and stakeholders.

His appointment is effective as of 15 July 2023.
