Opening: Director of Care for Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre

Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre* in Saskatoon seeks a dynamic, conscientious and spiritually-minded individual for the Director of Resident Care position.  The position is a diverse/multi-faceted role responsible for caring for our 97 residents.   

The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of resident care services by assessing, planning, organizing, developing, directing and evaluating the overall operation of the nursing team to ensure that the highest quality of resident care is maintained at all times.

Our ideal candidate has the following competencies: BSc or Masters's degree in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner, five years of management experience, eligibility for nursing licensure in Saskatchewan, ability to promote quality of life for residents, gerontology, coaching, self-directed, time management, MS Office, conflict management, delegation, stress management, building teams, continuous quality improvement, and bring a sense of fun to the workplace.

*The Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre is one of the oldest Adventist nursing homes in Canada; Anthony Kaytor, as Conference President at the time, was instrumental in the planning and construction of the facility.

Sunnyside opened its doors in 1964 with space for 68 residents, which increased to 106 in 1968 before being reduced to 97 in 2003.

It is situated on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River and has undergone extensive renovations over the years. It is near the Saskatoon Seventh-day Adventist Christian School. Since 2008, Randy Kurtz has served as Administrator and provided leadership.
