And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
Today our world is plagued with wars, natural disasters, and pandemics, to just name a few. This is just the beginning of the accumulation of such horrors. Jesus also has warned us that people will try to deceive others about His return. There has been times in the history of the church when rash predictions were made, and people relied upon these predictions, resulting in disappointment.
When Jesus mentions all these things that I have mention above, He tells us that these things are not specific signs of the end but just signs that the end is soon. Jesus said “Catastrophes will happen, but these will not signal the end.”
It is easy to believe that what is going on with the Russian and Ukrainian war, that the world is ending, but we have to remind ourselves that Jesus said there is far more specific signs that would indicate His return. The time of Jesus' second coming is soon but it is not yet.
What is going on is not the end but just the beginning of labor pains. We should expect that things will be more and more frequent and more intense before Jesus returns. Though there is much going on in the world, do not panic. Hold steadfast and continue to have faith. Do not let what is going on in the world around you harden your heart but continue to keep your light on and shine bright cause when Jesus does show us the real sign, we will know to be prepared.
This is not the end, this is just the beginning of something beautiful that is yet to come.
